Last Post of 2016

The new novellas are coming together nicely. I have six cool titles. All the covers have been made. Each story is a case file from the Fly on the Wall Detective Agency in Point Jove.

Josh Wolfe has retired. Deputy Rusty Nichols is the new Sheriff in town.

These stories take place after the Backwoods Justice trilogy.

The first book will be released in January 2017.

Short Read On Amazon

About LELAND’S MAGIC GARDEN
To ensure prosperity while setting himself apart from other florists Leland Gardner invents a machine that turns natural ingredients into an extraordinary liquid fertilizer. When a mouse falls into the machine the formula is dramatically transformed. In order to recreate this magical product that guarantees maximum growth potential along with brilliant flowers he’d have to add two more ingredients. Blood and bones. But how, and where, would he get them?

Excerpt:

If he lets her get away with it she’ll keep thinking she can do this. He grew angry and frustrated as he searched his pockets for the receipt. Leland Gardner, normally a shy and quiet little man, lagged behind the rest of the departing moviegoers, still fuming about being overcharged for his food and drink at the concession stand earlier by a teenage girl more interested in flirting with boys than in accurately ringing up his order. Or were the casual flirtations simply a clever ruse to divert everyone’s attention while she pocketed some of his money? Whatever the reason for her poor behavior, the whole ordeal ruined his once a month movie day at the Hummer Bird Theater.

By the time he reached the lobby he changed his mind about confronting her; two waiting lines had formed at the concession stand. He smacked a hand against the glass exit door and shoved it open. Stomped out of the building and into the blinding Saturday afternoon sunshine. Shielding his eyes, he scanned the crowded parking lot for his old station wagon.

He weaved in and out of traffic on Highway 35 trying to stay on the shady side of semi trucks and other large vehicles. Removing his eyeglasses too fast he bent back one of the wire earpieces. Grew angrier. His day was in a tailspin!

Special Announcement

All three Cajun Girl books are available exclusively from Amazon's Kindle Unlimited.

Psychological Suspense

She survived a horrific childhood only to wind up trapped in a bitter, loveless marriage. Determined to find independence BJ Donovan, a French Quarter restaurateur, pens a work of fiction. Her book is a hit. But not for long. While interest in her debut crime novel continues to wane she comes up with a plan for how to top the bestseller list again. Using her position as a young executive chef to blend in with the community, she embarks on a killing spree, by means of witchcraft, and uses details of the murders to begin the first book in a thriller series.

A homicide detective’s interest in her goes beyond a string of unsolved murders. BJ can’t allow him to get too close. Under the guise of a book signing tour for her debut novel, she makes monthly trips to twelve specific cities in order to gather enough real-life material to complete her episodic thriller which she believes has bestseller potential. Will she also find the freedom she seeks? Or will she spend the rest of her life paying a debt she never owed?

Excerpt from Chapter 1 of Part 1:

Virgil awoke late at night to find his wife gone. He kicked off cold and clammy bedcovers, box springs screeched when he got up. A steady breeze, weighed down with humidity, carried the vanilla-like fragrance of Joe-Pye weed and the barely audible sound of laughter through an open window. He stood behind fluttering white sheers and watched Marie trot across the back yard, her long black curls bouncing with each footfall. The opaque security light above the barn doors cast an eerie pallor through the limbs of an old elm draped with Spanish moss. He noticed her belly, in the narrow space between her shirt and shorts, seemed rounder than normal. He lazily scratched his ass, wondered what the hell she’s doing.

What's Happening

The changeover from the old blog to the new one is nearly complete. I like it in here, it's cozy. Had to shrink my book covers to make them fit, but that's okay.

The three CAJUN GIRL books are no longer available on all venues. More about this later.

I'm working on six novellas set in the Point Jove world (to be released in 2017).
